CO-PRODUCTIONS WITH ISRAELAt Highlight Films we believe that we can a local partner for your production. We often co-produce or co-fund with film and TV prducers who are looking for international partners, especially in productions taking place in various locations around the world.
The co-production can be initiated in the preliminary development phase or later, along the production time line. We are currently co-producing several documentary projects with European, American and Palestinian partners. The key rule for a successful co-production is for both partners to feel that they gain as much as they give... The public funds that support Israeli documentary films are willing to consider co-productions as original Israeli productions, therefore the formatting of a production as a coproduction often generates additional funding sources. Current co-productions: "Killing Kasztner" - co-produced with GR Films, New York. "Dead Sea Dying" - a Jordanian, Palestinian, Israeli coproduction, funded by Canadian, French and German broadcasters. Sales & Distribution: When we begin a co-production, we approach broadcasters that we are personally familiar with and offer them to join the project. In an early phase of the production, we contact one of the leading distribution companies in order to help us find a co-producer, make a pre-sale or sell the completed product. We usually work with BBC Worldwide, Journeyman Pictures, Smiley Distribution and Dragoman. Offer us a co-production: We are always interested in considering new ideas for eventual co-productions.
